Pierre Lardinois

Pierre Joseph Lardinois ( born August 13, 1924 in Noorbeek today to Margraten, † July 16, 1987 in Amsterdam) was a Dutch politician of the CIP, and later CDA.

Life and work

Lardinois was the son of a miller and grain merchant and came from a Catholic family. After the agricultural studies at Wageningen University, he became involved in the agricultural association's work and took it also parliamentary as a member of the Second Chamber of the Dutch parliament from 1963 until 1967. He held office from 1967 to 1973 as Dutch Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, and from 1973 to 1977 as Landwitschaftskommissar in the EC Commission Ortoli. Subsequently, he was until 1986 Chairman of the Board of the Dutch Rabobank.
