Geography

The market Pilsting is in the Isar valley in the district of Dingolfing -Landau.

It is divided into five districts: Ganacker, Großköllnbach, Harburg, Pilsting Waibling.

History

Previous settlements in and around the town has been around since the Neolithic period. Already in the year 889 after Christ Pilsting was mentioned in a document as "ad Pilistingon " as a possession of the Counts of Frontenhausen. Through the castellan in the Landau place Pilsting was laid in 1237 and plundered on fire. In the peace treaty of May 5, 1237, Herzog Otto Siegfried Bishop of Regensburg had to undertake to compensate for the destruction Pils Tings and not to block the thoroughfare. Pilsting was sold as a market (since 1380 ) including the dominions thereunto belonging, rights and privileges in 1386 by the Bishopric of Regensburg at the Bavarian dukes. The Thirty Years War and especially the fire in 1789 devastated belonging at this time to Rentamt Landshut and the District Court of the Electorate of Bavaria Teisbach place. 1812 a post office was built. Incorporations

In the market Pilsting the formerly independent communities Ganacker ( partial) and Waibling were incorporated on 1 January 1972 with the municipal reform. Großköllnbach followed on 1 January 1978.

Part of the former municipality of Harburg was reclassified in the year 1945 or 1946 after Waibling.

Attractions

The late- Gothic parish church in Pilsting dates from the 15th century and was completed in 1491, however, the previous building dates back to the 13th century. From this time a baptismal font has been preserved. Over time, the church was remodeled several times. 1754 Baroque style, it is re-gothicised since 1878. The 60 meter high tower was built in the transition period from Romanesque to Gothic. As the central church of the whole environment played the parish church, especially in the 15th century an important role as a pilgrimage church of "Our Lady on the moss ." She is also the final resting place of Hoholtinger and Kölnpecken who had their noble residence in the nearby Großköllnbach.

Also worth seeing is the original late Gothic, 1720-1730 Baroque style cemetery chapel.

The Meadow Chapel " of the Scourged Saviour " outside the market was built around 1648 and was rebuilt in the 18th century.

400 meters after the exit 19 on the BAB 92 towards Landau is 400 meters left of B 20 to see a small chapel, the Chapel of the Mother of God returnees in the moss. It is a new building in 1994 after the original 1954 built by a war veteran chapel had become dilapidated.

Pilsting also owns a listed market square.

In Ganacker is a Leonhardi Church, which is remarkable as chain Church.

Locally there are a number of medium-sized craft and commercial businesses ( clothing, wood and iron processing). But the place is known by the Goggomobil: 1946, a metal processing company was built on the western outskirts of Frederick Hahn, who passed in 1951 at the Isaria Maschinenfabrik Hans glass. In the same year the scooter came under the name Goggo and 1954, a small car, the " Goggomobil " on the market. Later it was taken over by BMW and by the tractor works Eicher. From 1973 to 2009, built on this site NEOPLAN buses, bus production in 2009 was taken over by the VISEON.
