Pliešovce

Pliešovce ( German rarely Deutschpelsätz - older even Pleißnitz or Pilsen, Hungarian Tótpelsőc - to 1873 Pelsőc ) a place and a municipality in Zvolen Okres of Banskobystrický kraj is in the middle of Slovakia, with 2312 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011).

Geography

The municipality is located in the south of the basin Pliešovská kotlina, on a watershed: while Neresnica eventually leads through the town flowing stream in the Slatina in the north, passing through the municipality Krupinica flows further south in the Ipeľ. East of the church rises the extinct volcano mountains Javorie, while in the south the mountains Krupinská Planina lies. Southeast of the village is situated the military zone read.

Administratively divided the community into the following districts: Dolinky, Lonec, Pliešovce, Podjavorie, Polomy and Zaježová.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1256 in a document, then in 1332 as Plesvic. In the 14th century, a distinction is made between a Slovak and a German part. 1419 was the place carte blanche in 1523 then the municipal law. At this time there was a quarry where limestone called you. Apart from this activity were in the village of Agriculture and Commerce widespread. In the 16th century it was sacked three times by the Turks and burned twice.

Until 1918, the place was in the county Sohl in the Kingdom of Hungary and came afterwards to the newly formed Czechoslovakia. 1959-1990 was the district Zaježová an independent municipality.
