The Pohnpei International Airport ( IATA: PNI, ICAO: PTPN ) is an airport located on Pohnpei, one belonging to the Federated States of Micronesia island. It is located about two kilometers north of the city of Kolonia on the small offshore island of Pohnpei Dekehtik. As the only airport on Pohnpei he also supplies the Micronesian capital Palikir.

Destinations and airlines

United Airlines operates the most flights - abroad, inter alia, to Guam.

Previously also flew Air Nauru and Aloha Airlines at the airport.

Incidents and accidents

On March 11, 2001, a Boeing 727 flew the air freight company Express One International from Majuro Amata Kabua International Airport in the Marshall Islands coming to the airport, but had already before the runway threshold contact with the ground and was badly damaged in the landing gear. When the repair work resulted in further damage, so that the aircraft had to be scrapped.
