Port Campbell

Port Campbell is a coastal town in southwestern Victoria, Australia, 285 kilometers from Melbourne. The place is located on the touristic significant Great Ocean Road west of the Twelve Apostles between Warrnambool and Lavers Hill. 2006 Port Campbell had a population of 599 people.

History

The town was settled in the 1870s, and built the first harbor in 1880. The Port Campbell Post Office opened on 19 March 1874 and was renamed in 1881 in Port Campbell West, as a new Port Campbell office was opened in the vicinity of the port.

Tourism

The place has significance for the tourists who visit the Twelve Apostles and the Port Campbell National Park. Other nearby natural attractions that are visited by the visitors, the London Bridge, Loch Ard Gorge and The Gibson Steps are.
