Pribeta

Pribeta ( to 1948 Slovak Perbete - to 1927 Perbeta; Hungarian Perbete ) is a municipality in southwestern Slovakia. It is located in the Danubian Plain, 10 km east of Hurbanovo and 24 km north-east of Komárno.

The village was first mentioned in 1312 as Perbethe.

Until 1918, the municipality in the county Komárom Hungary belonged to the kingdom and then came to the newly formed Czechoslovakia. By the First Vienna Award she came from 1938 to 1945 for a short time again to Hungary.

Of the residents living in the place 77 % of Hungarian and 23% Slovak descent (as of 2001).
