Privatair SA, the outer appearance PrivatAir, a Swiss charter airline based in Meyrin, which operates mainly business aircraft.

History

PrivatAir was founded in 1977 as a corporate flight operations of the corporate group of the Latsis family under the name Petrolair. 1979 began to air traffic with a Boeing 737-200 and offered to Business Travel. In 1989, a Boeing 757 and a Gulfstream IV were added and the name was changed to PrivatAir. On 1 June 1995 the company was licensed by the Swiss Federal Office of Aviation as a commercial airline.

Since February 2002, the Company operates its own terminal at Geneva Airport.

From June 2002 to June 2008 operational Privatair on behalf of Lufthansa non-stop transatlantic service from Dusseldorf to Newark with New York City. To accommodate this was the first transatlantic flight, took off the exclusively business class. To this end, the German subsidiary PrivatAir Germany GmbH was founded with its headquarters in Dusseldorf, the operation not only the four Airbus in own responsibility, but also partially carried out the maintenance with its own staff. From 2003 to 2008 led by the private air charter services between the work sites in Hamburg -Finkenwerder and Toulouse for Airbus. This was then taken over by the East Frisian air transport (OLT ).

Destinations

PrivatAir has its own behalf to no lines - but only charter flights. Lufthansa

In the winter timetable 2013/2014 PrivatAir Lufthansa operated for the following destinations:

  • Frankfurt to Accra ( until March 29, 2014 )
  • Frankfurt to Dammam
  • Frankfurt to Pune (return via Bucharest )

On these lines, Boeing Business Jet 2 are used, which are exceptionally equipped next 32 seats in Business Class with 60 seats economy class. The cabin interior corresponds to the long-haul fleet of Lufthansa.

In the 2011 summer timetable Privatair flew from Frankfurt am Main to Accra yet to Khartoum and from Munich to Cairo, Riyadh, and Tashkent. The winter timetable 2011/2012 flights from Munich were set and partially taken over by Lufthansa. In December 2013, the route from Frankfurt via Libreville is set to Pointe- Noire. The route to Accra is taken from the end of March 2014 Lufthansa itself.

It was already planned several times that PrivatAir for Lufthansa from Munich and Tehran in Iran and the Iraqi capital Baghdad flies to. At times, but only the connection to Baghdad was realized.

ECAir

For ECAir PrivatAir operates in the winter timetable 2013/2014 of Brazzaville or Pointe- Noire to Ollombo, Douala, Cotonou and Paris.
