Proud Like a God (English, proud like a god ') is the debut album by the German rock band Guano Apes. In Germany it reached platinum in Austria and Switzerland Gold status. In 1999, the album was also released by RCA in the United States.

Formation
1996 won Guano Apes organized by Radio ffn and VIVA talent competition "Local Heroes". With the prize money of 70,000 DM they could finance a studio and produce their debut album themselves. Moreover, it was the victory at the Local Heroes Contra Promotion GmbH aware of the band and gave her as a new management contract with the BMG sub-label Gun Records.
Music style
The album takes its place in the mid-1990s very successful in Germany style of the crossover. Open Your Eyes
Open Your Eyes was the first single by Proud like a God and was published on 22 August 1997. Commercial success
