Province of Las Palmas

Las Palmas is a Spanish province, consisting of the Canary Islands, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Alegranza, La Graciosa, Montaña Clara, Lobos, Roque del Este and Roque del Oeste. Together with the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, it forms the Autonomous Community of Islas Canarias.

While most of the 50 provinces of Spain, a province of representation, a provincial government and a provincial administration have there in the autonomous communities of Spain which therefore consist only of a region of Asturias, Cantabria, La Rioja, Madrid, Murcia and Navarra and in the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands, and the Canary Islands such non- facilities.

By the Statute of Autonomy of 1982, the tasks of the provincial representation, provincial government and provincial administration of the provinces of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has been delegated to the body of the Cabildo and the Comunidad Autónoma de Canarias.
