Radio Ukraine International
Radio Ukraine International ( short RUI ) is the foreign service of the governmental National Radio Company of Ukraine Natsionalna Radiokompanya Ukrainy. By March 1991, the station Radio Kiev said.
History
Our own international service of the Ukrainian broadcasting company began at the time of the Soviet Union in May 1966. Transmitter wore at that time the name Radio Kiev and was the third Soviet foreign broadcasts in addition to Radio Moscow and the transmitter peace and progress. Until the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, Radio Kiev in the shadow of these two Moscow station, particularly as the most powerful transmitters, were reserved for itself in the Ukrainian Soviet Republic of Radio Moscow. However, in addition to radio Kiev were broadcast on short wave and medium wave still the first and third domestic program.
In March 1992, the renaming of the radio transmitter in Ukraine International took place. Foreign broadcasting station of the now independent Ukraine was able to prove the previously used by other Soviet stations frequencies themselves. During the 1990s, however, many of the transmission facilities were closed for financial reasons until only been used even a short wave frequency. Later were then temporarily reinstated other former frequencies. The foreign service had to save more and more. The German service is heard no more about their own short -wave transmitter since 2010. Since then, a live stream on the Internet as well as a channel via satellite will only be offered. In 2011, the Ukrainian service for Ukrainians was set abroad.
The widely audible, especially in winter medium wave transmitters were switched off for the year 2012/ 2013. During the year 2013, the transmitter Bowary was demolished, the first short- wave antennas, in October 2013, the long -wave antenna.
Today's program offer
RUI still produced programs in English, in German and Romanian. The audio channel of RUI, which broadcasts alternate in different languages is transmitted via live stream on the Internet and via satellite Astra 4A. This point there is also a podcast of the show.
