RAEC Mons

The Royal Albert -Elisabeth Club Mons, better known as RAEC Mons, is a Belgian football club from Mons in Hainaut, nicknamed " Les Dragons d' Albert" (French for The Dragon Alberts ). It was named in 1910 after the then royal couple Albert I and Elisabeth.

History

The association was created in 1909 from a merger of Club Amateur Sportif and Stade Montois, played for years and managed unterklassig 2000 promotion to the Belgian Division 2, the second- highest division. Two years later, succeeded first promotion to the First Division, of the 2005 but had to go back to the club. However, succeeded as second division champions the team of the immediate revival and played from 2006 to 2009 again top notch. In the 2008 /09 season was as a Table of re relegation to the second division. In the seasons 2009 /10 and 2010/11 ( KNVB - League), the club finished the season in third place tables each. 2011 could be achieved in the first division by the success in the Tour Final Division 2 of the resurgence.

In Belgian Football Cup 2011/2012 of the RAEC Mons only lost in the semifinals of the KV Kortrijk. The first leg in Mons went with 1:2 and lost the second leg, a week later, then ended in a draw 2:2, which Mons was excreted.

After losing to Ghent on February 25, 2012 said coach Dennis van Wijk, that he would not renew his contract for the coming season, after which the club the following day van Wijk dismissed with immediate effect. On Tuesday, February 28, 2012 Enzo Scifo RAEC Mons committed as their new coach, who signed a contract until 30 June 2013.
