The Stade Charles Tondreau is a football stadium in the Belgian city of Mons Hainaut in Wallonia. The crew of the RAEC Mons bears in the system of their home games. Currently, the stadium can accommodate 12,662 visitors ( 8,662 seats and 4,000 standing) on the four stands.

History

After the founding of the association by René Tondreau, Maurice Van Pel, Henri Lebailly and Fernand Courtois; one leased in May 1910, a plot of one hectare of today's Avenue du Tir. Then the venue of the Association was inaugurated in front of 300 spectators on September 25th of the year.

Currently, the stadium is in the middle of the reconstruction phase. First, a modern grandstand was built with VIP boxes and business seats; this was followed by a new stand behind. Both ranks are complete with chairs with seats. The opposite stand is equipped with open standing as covered seats. The second stand behind is unüberdacht and has standing room only with breakwaters. When the two old ranks must give way to new buildings and the renovation continues; is not yet clear. Behind the grandstand are three football pitches for training purposes.

Every year the festival Ducasse de Mons is celebrated in the city of Mons. During the multi-day celebration takes place the International Military Music Festival Festival International des Musiques militaires de Mons ( FIMM ) and others at the Stade Charles Tondreau instead. First found this place in 1961 and is named after the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, the second-largest festival of its kind in Europe.
