Ralph Stöckli

Ralph Stöckli ( born July 23, 1976 in Uzwil ) is a Swiss curler. He is a trained physical education teacher and lives in Bern.

His first major success was winning the bronze medal at the Junior World Championships in 1994 in Sofia ( as a substitute ). In 1996 he was in Red Deer second and won the 1997 Japanese Karuizawa the Junior World Championship title. His last tournament in the junior class was the 1998 World Cup in Thunder Bay, where he won the bronze medal. According to a seventh place at the 2002 World Championships in Bismarck Stöckli won the silver medal at the 2003 World Championships in Winnipeg.

Stöckli Skip was the Swiss team at the curling tournament of the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Pinerolo, but could not qualify for the semifinals. At the national level Stöckli was between 1994 and 1997 four consecutive Junior Swiss Champion. 2002, 2005 and 2007, he won the title of Swiss Champion. In December 2006, reinforced Ralph Stöckli the team of Andreas Schwaller on the position of the Thirds at the European Championships in Basel successful. With the final victory against Scotland they could win the European title for Switzerland. At the 2007 World Championships Stöckli just missed the podium. Instead of Switzerland drew Germany into a semi-final.

At the European Championships in 2009 in Aberdeen, Scotland Ralph Stöckli won the silver medal with his team. In the final he defeated the Swedish team to Niklas Edin Skip. The following year at the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010, he succeeded in revenge, when the Swiss in the bronze medal match defeated the Swedes at Edin.
