Karuizawa (Nagano)

Karuizawa (Japanese軽 井 沢 町, machi ) is a town and tourist destination in Kitasaku -gun in the east of Nagano Prefecture in Japan.

The village is located about 1000 meters above sea level and has been used since the Meiji period from Tokyo Tern as a summer resort. Karuizawa 1964 was the venue for the equestrian competitions of the Olympic Games. 1998 took place the curling competitions of the Olympic Winter Games here. Karuizawa is a station of the Nagano Shinkansen.
