The Råsundastadion ( full name: Råsunda fotbollsstadion ) was a Swedish football stadium. It was in Solna, a municipality in the province County of Stockholm. 75 years after its inauguration in 1937, the stadium was demolished in November 2012 to the year 2013.

History

Already since 1910, was located at the site of today's stadium, a smaller stadium that could seat 12,000 spectators. It was in 1912 the venue for some football games, among others, during the Olympic Summer Games. The 1937 inaugurated new Råsundastadion was in possession of the Svenska Fotbollförbundet and the Swedish national football team of the men wore to 2012 here play their home games. In addition, all games of AIK Solna and all of the Stockholm derby teams from Allsvenskan, Sweden's first football league, were discharged.

The first game took place even before the opening. On April 18, 1937 AIK Solna received the Malmö FF. The hosts won 4-0 gates. Go to the official inauguration, the team of Sweden met on England ( 0:4 ). Originally, the stadium took 40,000 spectators, but was rebuilt for the Football World Cup in 1958 to accommodate about 50,000 spectators. It was, inter alia, also the final of the World Cup held in Råsundastadion. In 1995, the stadium was also the venue of the final of the Women's World Cup 1995. It is the first stadium in which a final of the men's and women 's soccer World Cup was held.

The attendance record was born on 26 September 1965. The venue was filled to the World Cup qualifier against Sweden Germany with 52 943 fans. The highest number of visitors of a league game pointed out the game from October 11, 1959 between Djurgårdens IF and IFK Gothenburg. The game resulted in 48 894 spectators in the Råsundastadion. In the end, however, it offered only 36,608 seats. On August 15, 2012 took the game with Sweden against Brazil, in memory of the World Cup final in 1958, the last international match in Råsundastadion instead. From December 2009 to October 2012 which is also located in Solna successor Friends Arena was built.

The day after the last group game of the UEFA Europa League match between AIK Solna and Napoli (1:2) on 22 November 2012, the demolition work began on the old National Stadium. Fans were allowed at the beginning of demolition work at the open door into the stadium to secure souvenirs from the old venue.

On the old stadium site to be built 700 apartments and 19,000 square feet of office space.
