The EV Ravensburg ( officially: ice sports club Ravensburg eV ) is an ice hockey club based in Ravensburg, whose beginnings go back to the year 1881. Since the 2007/ 08 season, the first team, the Ravensburg Tower Stars Since 2013 plays in the second league in which DEL2 newly established. Their home games wearing the teams of the EVR from the 3,300 -seat ice rink Ravensburg.

History

On November 23, 1881 Eislaufverein Ravensburg was founded. Initially, a pond served on the grounds of the Maschinenfabrik Escher- Wyss, ice rink, from 1925 a space on Wernerhofweiher. In the early 1930s, the Club moved to the tennis courts at the Veitsburg where Spritzeis with a natural ice surface was generated. A first Ravensburger hockey team was assembled Already on December 2, 1932 there. But the organizational effort and external problems such as weather conditions did not make it possible to perform an even vaguely regulated match and training operation. In 1948 the club began operating again on the natural ice rink on the Veitsburg before 1954, the construction of a natural ice rink on the nearby St. Christina slope was started. This stadium was rebuilt in 1958 for the first synthetic ice rink in Württemberg. It was opened on 18 October 1958, the match Germany against Switzerland in front of 7,000 spectators. At the end of the season 2006/07 EV Ravensburg was able to return to the 2nd Bundesliga after eleven years old abstinence. After the team placed after the main round to fourth place and the play-off semi-final 4-1 games against Hannover Indians was victorious, the club finally won the final 4-0 games against SC Riessersee. Following the sporting promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga decided on 25 April 2007 an extraordinary general meeting of the association the spin-off of the first team in a match operations GmbH, to be played under the name EVR Tower Stars. The original club

The amateur team takes in the season 2008 /09 in part as the second male seniors team in the fourth division Baden-Württemberg- League at the Round of not interested in obtaining a promotion to the premier league teams. Also play about six different youth teams for the club. The women's team takes 2008/ 09 at the National League of Baden-Württemberg in part.

These exist under the umbrella of the EV Ravensburg senior team Oldstars that exist for 36 years. 25 times was " International - Oldstar Cup" discharged. Last winner was Burgdorf.

Venue

The crews of the EV Ravensburg play in the newly opened ice rink in 2003 Ravensburg. The hall can accommodate 3,300 spectators (1,070 seats).
