Reinosa

Reinosa is the largest city and county seat of the comarca Campoo - Los Valles in the Spanish province of Cantabria. The city is located in a sparsely populated region in the Cantabrian mountains high. Reinosa located near the Ebro Reservoir, and is surrounded by mountains that protrude mostly above the tree line.

Reinosa and the surrounding villages are concentrated economically on the production of agricultural products, particularly milk and vegetables. Along the A67, there is a small industrial area, which is marked next to the plants for food production, especially by a steel plant of the Brazilian Gerdaugruppe. Tourism is focused mainly on mountaineers or fishermen who are traveling on day trips. There are few hotels in the city, but still a large number of shops and restaurants. The small town is known for its pancakes.

Reinosa is located on the A67 motorway, which in Santander motorway A8 (Oviedo - Santander) crosses and leads through a high valley in the mountains. There the land is first colonized so thin that only small villages can be seen that lie a few kilometers apart. Reinosa is on the railway line Santander - Palencia and is the terminus of the S -Bahn line 1 of the Cercanías Santander. This route is single track expanded part, which very few trains run through to Reinosa. Thus, there are very few trains a day. A trip to Santander takes just under two hours.
