Republic Airways Holdings, Inc. ( NASDAQ: RJET ) is an American holding company and the parent company of the airlines Chautauqua Airlines, Shuttle America and Republic Airlines.

Business

Republic Airways Holdings operates four airlines with different aircraft types and application areas. This division results from the scope clauses, an agreement of the major U.S. airlines with their pilot unions after the seat number of feeder airlines is limited to a maximum of 50 seats. On these machines, pilots may be employed with lower salaries.

Chautauqua Airlines operates a fleet of aircraft with up to 50 seats among the regional brands American Connection, Delta Connection, U.S. Airways Express, Continental Express and United Express for their respective parent companies. Shuttle America operates the next largest aircraft under the names Delta Connection and United Express, Republic Airlines flies for U.S. Airways Express.

History
