The station Rheda- Wiedenbrück is a passenger station in the Westphalian town of Rheda -Wiedenbrück in North Rhine -Westphalia. It lies on the railway line Hamm- Minden, one of the most frequented routes in Germany.

The Warendorf path branches off westwards from Münster ( Westphalia ), so the station is operational seen a separation station. The part of the track east towards Lippstadt is now closed.

History

With the construction of their regular route from Cologne to Minden on the Ruhr, the Cologne -Minden Railway Company opened on October 15, 1847 the first railway station, which was initially the name " Rheda in Westphalia ".

After the nationalization of the nominally private railway companies, the portion of Warendorf about Rheda to Lippstadt the Warendorf railway was completed on 25 June 1887, the first crossed the railway station and the existing line at an acute angle. The northern part of the track between Rheda and Münster under stood the " Royal Railway Direction Cöln right bank ", the southern to Lippstadt, however, the " Royal Railway Direction Hannover ".

On 1 May 2001, with the section to Rheda -Wiedenbrück -South the last section of the Warendorf train shut down to Lippstadt, since the station is no longer a junction station but only separation station. Two years later, the freight station was decommissioned on 14 December 2003.
