Richard Prager

Life

Prague studied astronomy in Marburg, Göttingen and Berlin, and in 1908 received his doctorate. From 1909 to 1913 he worked as head of department at the Observatory in Santiago de Chile. Since 1913 he worked as an assistant at the University of Berlin from 1916 as Observer and since 1924 as a professor at the observatory Neubabelsberg. In 1938 he was arrested as a Jew. British friends erwirkten his release so that he could emigrate.

Since 1939 he has taught at Harvard University.
