Rick Simpson
Rick Simpson is an American art director and production designer, who once won the Academy Award for Best Production Design, and again was nominated for the Oscar.
Life
Simpson began his career as an art director and production designer in the film industry in Hollywood during the 1975 television series Barbary Coast and worked until 2006 at the scenic features of more than fifty films.
At the Academy Awards in 1985 he was nominated along with Albert Brenner for the Academy Award for Best Production Design, and indeed for 2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984 ) by Peter Hyams with Roy Scheider, John Lithgow and Helen Mirren.
In 1991, he won jointly with Richard Sylbert the Oscar for Best Production Design in the resulting after the eponymous comic film Dick Tracy (1990 ) directed by and starring Warren Beatty and Al Pacino and Charlie Korsmo.
