Riivo Sinijärv

Riivo Sinijärv ( born May 27, 1947 in Tallinn) is an Estonian politician, chemists and economists.

Chemist

Riivo Sinijärv closed in 1969, the University of Tartu in chemistry from and worked until 1977 at the Polytechnic Institute in Tallinn as an engineer of Chemical Technology. From 1969 to 1973 he was also a research associate at the Institute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic. From 1980 to 1988 Sinijärv was director of the Institute for Chemical and Biological Physics and from 1988 to 1992 director of the company Kemotex Bio AS.

Politician

With the restoration of Estonian independence Sinijärv engaged politically. In 1992, he was First Deputy Industry and Energy Minister, 1992/93 Member of the Estonian Parliament and 1993-1995 Estonian Ambassador in London. As ambassador, he was accredited from 1994 to 1995 in Ireland. 6 November 1995 to 2 December 1996, he served as a member of the Estonian Coalition Party ( Eesti Koonderakond ) Foreign Minister of the Republic of Estonia, 1996 Minister for European Affairs and Minister of the Interior in 1997.

He was elected President of the European Movement Estonia ( Eesti Euroopa Liikumine ) 2002, a founding member, he had been in Estonia.

Businessman

From 1998 to 2001 was director of the company Sinijärv First Chase International Ltd.. , Then deputy general manager of the railway company AS Eesti Raudtee.
