Rise Against

Rise Against is an American punk / hardcore band from Chicago, Illinois. The group is known for their political commitment; many songs have ideological issues as content. In particular, animal rights are important to the band: All members are vegetarians, vegans two. They also support the organizations PETA and Sea Shepherd.

History

The band was formed in 1999 under the name "Transistor Revolt " by Tim McIlrath, Joe Principe and Toni Tintari and Dan "Mr. Precision " Wlekinski founded. In 2000 they released a self-produced demo recording, which also bore the name Transistor Revolt. A year later, she signed with Fat Wreck Chords to release their first two albums there, The Unraveling and Revolutions per minute. Mr. Precision left Rise Against in 2001 and was replaced by Todd Mohney. Later they switched to Dreamworks Records and recorded their third album, Siren Song of the Counter Culture. However, Dreamworks Records was acquired by Universal Music Group and Rise Against finally found at Geffen Records again, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, in 2004 they released Siren Song of the Counter Culture in August. Shortly after Rise Against had signed to Geffen Records, Mohney left the band and Chris Chasse took his place, which was in turn replaced by Zach Blair in early 2007. In Fat Wreck Chords in August 2005 appeared a revised re-release of The Unraveling. On 4 July 2006, the album The Sufferer & the Witness was released again at Geffen Records. The fifth album is like the two albums Revolutions Per Minute and The Sufferer & the Witness by Bill Stevenson ( Black Flag, Descendents ) and Jason Livermore was recorded and produced. It was released on 10 October 2008 under the name of Appeal to Reason. According to Zach Blair, the band with the recording of the new album in September 2010 has begun. The album called Endgame was released on 11 March 2011 in Germany. On 18 January 2011 there was the premiere of the new single Help is on the way. A part of the first single Architects was published on 14 February 2011 on the platform SoundCloud that has since been sold. On June 21, 2011, the music video for the song Make it Stop ( September Children) was released, which takes up the issue of suicide of young people in late September 2010 as a result of bullying.

As a consequence, dated 29 February 2012 the band had at TV total their first television world. Contrary to the announcement that the band will play the title Satellite from their latest album Endgame at the time, entered Bandmitgründer Tim McIlrath -, according to Raab spontaneously - solo with Swing Life Away on.

On September 6, 2013, the band on Interscope Records released with Long forgotten songs: B- Sides & Covers 2000 to 2013 a collection of 26 single B-sides, sampler contributions and cover songs.
