Rob Gaudreau

Robert R. Gaudreau ( born January 20, 1970 in Cranston, Rhode Iceland ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player. During his career he played for the San Jose Sharks and Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League.

Career

Gaudreau played for four years from 1988 to 1992 very successful at Providence College in the Hockey East the National Collegiate Athletic Association. In his first year he was appointed jointly with Scott Pellerin for rookie of the year. In the following years, followed by three nominations for All-Star teams in the league. Already in 1988 NHL Entry Draft, the right winger was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the ninth round to 172 place. The Penguins gave his transfer rights but quickly to the Minnesota North Stars from. Also for the North Stars played Gaudreau not a single NHL game, as he was obliged in the NHL Dispersal Draft in 1991 by the San Jose Sharks newly established.

After his last year of college, the Americans finally joined the NHL, scoring in his rookie season in 1992/93 in 59 games 23 goals for San Jose, but was also at the Kansas City Blades, the farm team of the Sharks, in the International Hockey League used. After another year in San Jose put him this before the season 1994/95, which started late because of the lockout, on the waiver list. From there, the Ottawa Senators took him under contract, where he also remained for two years. Then Gaudreau moved to Europe and played for both the HC Bolzano as well as for the HC La Chaux -de-Fonds, before he ended his career after the 1996/97 season.

Internationally

Gaudreau took part in the World Youth Championship in 1990 and the Senior World Championships in 1993 for the United States. A medal but he could not win it.
