Robert Rehme

Robert Rehme ( born May 5, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio) is an American film producer and former president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Life

Rehme studied at the University of Cincinnati. Between 1972 and 1978 he was managing director of Roger Corman's production company New World Pictures. He then moved to Avco Embassy Pictures, where he served as Chief Executive Officer. During this time, among other things, horror movies Phantasm, The Fog there were - The Fog and The animal produces. From 1981 to 1983 he served as Chief Operating Officer for Universal Pictures before he returned as CEO at New World Pictures and bought up among other Marvel Entertainment Group and Lions Gate Post Production Services. 1989 New World Pictures was dissolved and Rehme founded with Mace Neufeld own production company. For Paramount Pictures produced this among other things Patriot Games, The Cartel and Beverly Hills Cop III.

Rehme from 1992 to 1993 and between 1997 and 2001 President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which is responsible among other things for the award of the Oscars.
