Theodore Reed

Theodore Reed ( born June 18, 1887 in Cincinnati, Ohio, † February 22, 1959 in San Diego, California ) was an American film producer and director. He was 1933-1934 President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Life

He studied at the University of Michigan, and then to work later in the production company of Douglas Fairbanks as a script editor. His first film as a director called "The Nut" he turned in 1921. With the beginning of the sound era he moved to United Artists as a sound director, in 1932 to switch to Paramount Pictures.
