Rod Harrington

Rod Harrington ( born December 30, 1957 in Boreham, Essex ) is a former English darts player. He was a member from 1990 to 1993, the BDO and joined in the season 1992/ 93 on the PDC. Harrington was from April 1995 to August 1996 and from August 1998 to August 2000 number 1 of the PDC rankings.

Career

Rod Harrington tug during his career the nickname The Prince of Style. By his first major title, the Winmau World Masters in 1991, he is one of the few players who have ever managed to beat Phil Taylor in a final of a major tournament.

When he joined the PDC after the division of the world - Dartverbände, he reached in 1995 with the second edition of the PDC World Championship the final, where he then they lost to Phil Taylor 2-6. In 1998 he reached the final of the World Grand Prix, in which he also lost to Taylor, but in the same year he won the World Match Play against Ronnie Baxter. After his playing career Harrington was one of the PDC directors and is within the SkySports Dartübertragungen worked as an expert and commentator. In the meantime, he was also the manager, inter alia, worked for Colin Lloyd ( Jaws ).
