Roman Catholic Diocese of Pescia

History

The diocese of Pescia was built on April 15, 1519 by Pope Leo X as Territorialprälatur Pescia. The Territorialprälatur Pescia was born on March 17, 1727 by Pope Benedict XIII. raised to the bishopric and the Holy See under the direct. The seminary of the diocese of Pescia was built in 1784.

On 1 August 1856 the diocese of Pescia was by Pope Pius IX. primum the Archdiocese of Pisa assumed with the Apostolic Constitution Ubi suffragan.
