The Diocese of Shimoga (Latin: Dioecesis Shimogaensis ) is a located in India Roman Catholic diocese based in Shimoga.

History

The Diocese of Shimoga was established on November 14, 1988 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Id spectantes out of territory of the Archdiocese of Bangalore and of the Diocese of Chikmagalur. It was the Archdiocese of Bangalore is a suffragan.

Territory

The diocese comprises the districts of Shimoga Shimoga, Chitradurga and Davanagere in Karnataka.
