Roman Catholic Diocese of Suchitepéquez-Retalhuleu

The diocese Suchitepéquez - Retalhuleu (Latin: Dioecesis Suchitepequensis - Retalhulensis ) is a located in Guatemala Roman Catholic diocese based in Mazatenango. It comprises the departments Suchitepéquez and Retalhuleu.

History

Pope John Paul II established the Diocese Suchitepéquez - Retalhuleu on 31 December 1996 with the Apostolic Constitution Ad aptius consulendum out of territory of the Archdiocese of Los Altos Quetzaltenango - Totonicapán, where there was also a suffragan. Since the establishment Pablo Vizcaino Prado is bishop.
