Roriz is a small town and a municipality in Portugal.
History
In the first half of the 11th century a monastery was built, possibly on the basis of an earlier, pre-existing monastery here. The present town dates back to the convent.
Up to the administrative reforms of the Liberal Revolution 1822 Roiz was a separate administrative circle. After Miguelistenkrieg the county was dissolved in 1836 and has since been a municipality in the district of Santo Tirso.
On 6 April 2011 Roriz the Assembleia was the status of a small town ( Vila ) unanimously by the Parliament, as awarded República.
Attractions
Roriz is dominated by two Benedictine monasteries. The Mosteiro the Roriz and the Mosteiro de Singeverga.

Management
Roriz is a comune ( freguesia ) of the circle ( concelho ) from Santo Tirso in the district of Porto. In the municipality of 3658 inhabitants (as at 30 June 2011) on an area of 6.2 km ².
Economy
The community is historically strong agricultural. Since the 1960s, then was the textile industry the most important branch of the community and their environment. Agriculture has lost heavily in the sequence in importance and is now run only as a sideline. In contrast, the wine since the 20th century has grown significantly, and is adjacent to the textile industry is the most important regional economic factor.
