Rosenau (Brandenburg)

The municipality is located in the Office Rosenau Wusterwitz in the district Potsdam- agent Mark (Brandenburg). The municipality was created in 2001 through the merger of four small communities.

Geography

The community is located 15 km southwest of Brandenburg an der Havel on the eastern edge of the Fiener break. In the West, the community is bordered by the state of Saxony -Anhalt, on the north by the municipality Wusterwitz, on the east by the county-level city of Brandenburg an der Havel and on the south by the Office Ziesar. Just north of the village there is the Elbe- Havel Canal.

Community structure

The municipality is divided according to the main statutes into four districts:

  • Rogäsen
  • Viesen
  • Warchau with the community part Gollwitz
  • Chintz

Then there is the living space Viesener mill.

History

The community Rosenau was taken on December 31, 2001 the voluntary merger of the previously independent municipalities Rogäsen, Viesen and Warchau .. The community chintz, the new community was also incorporated on 31 December 2001 and moved here in the office by the Office Ziesar Wusterwitz. Goll joke was already incorporated on July 1, 1950 in the municipality Warchau. The history of the community is therefore essentially the story of today's districts.

District Viesen

Viesen has about 180 inhabitants. The first written mention dates from 1282 when De Viesene. The name of Slavic origin meaning high place. Worth seeing is the stone church. That her tower is narrower than their ship, is a special feature in the flaming. In the Baroque church choir lofts and a Baroque altar are seen. Another attraction is the old fire station, whose function has since been taken over by a new building.
