Rosenthal (Berlin)

Rosenthal was up to the formation of Greater Berlin in 1920, an independent Gutsbezirk and a rural community in the north of Berlin. The village was first mentioned in 1356 as Rosendalle.

With the incorporation of the larger part ( Rosenthal rural community, the district west Liebenwalder railway and district Rosenthal I, with 4332 inhabitants - - Wilhelmsruh ) was assigned to the new district Reinickendorf. The smaller part ( Rosenthal rural municipality with about 1864 inhabitants, the district east Liebenwalder train with about 1725 inhabitants and Rosenthal Gutsbezirk with 129 inhabitants ) came as the district of Berlin -Rosenthal as the new district of Pankow.

Sights and culture

Structures

Rosenthal was created in 1230 as Angersdorf. Documented, it is first mentioned in 1356 as a parish of Rosendalle. In the Land Book of Charles IV ( 1375 ) are reported for 72 hooves Rosental, four parish hooves. There is also a pitcher. The ensemble of Rosenthaler Angers is recognized as a monument. The ensemble of village green include, among others, built in 1250 Rosenthaler village church, the church in the village belonging to the parish hall of 1898 in the main road 138, which was built circa 1820 farmhouse with barn and farm workers barracks of 1840/1850; the barn is used by the Rosenthaler workshops, a network of specialists from the arts and crafts and the 1901-1903 built by master mason office clerk house on the main road 94; originally built as a school, has been used since 1990 as a Child and Youth Facility "Land Berlin- Rosenthal ".

The Evangelical Church was built in Northrend 1909/1910 by the architect Fritz Gottlob in the Art Nouveau style. In the Sermon Hall is an organ, the organ builder brothers Dinse.

From 17 to 19 September 2010, the 37th Rosenthaler autumn harvest festival was held under the motto " 780 years Rosenthal " instead.

Economy

In Rosenthal were 1906-1932 the factories for turbines, turbo generators, electric cars (type " Protos " ) and locomotives miner Electricitäts works company shares. Between Rosenthal and Blank field were located since the early days by 1985 sewage farms on which the sewage Berlin were irrigated. These areas have since been rehabilitated, upgraded with walking trails and designated as a nature reserve.

Traffic

The train station Berlin -Rosenthal of Heidekrautbahn was north of Quickbornerheide road after the Wall in the border area and was demolished. Instead, a temporary breakpoint at the railroad crossing Wilhelmsruher dam has been built for the now operating on this stretch of heather railway museum traffic.

Today Rosenthal is connected by the line M1 tram line to the city center of Berlin (the last stop on the copper trench on the Museum Island). The bus route 124 connects with the Rosenthal Märkischen center, with the S U Wittenau and continues up to Tegel.
