Roy Roedger

Roy Rodger ( born October 11, 1958 in Weston, Ontario ) is a retired German - Canadian ice hockey player.

Career

As Manfred Wolf and Harold Kreis came Roy Rodger one of the first German - Canadians in the summer of 1979 from Canada to Germany in the Hockey League. The coach of the Mannheimer ERC, Heinz way Bach was particularly sought through newspaper ads in Canada for players with German ancestors who could be naturalized immediately and not burdened the foreigner quota of his team. Rodger has developed into an outstanding striker and played six years in Mannheim. From the 1985/86 season he played until the 1989/90 season for the Düsseldorf EC.

As Manfred Wolf, he won in 1980 with the Mannheimer ERC and 1990 with the Düsseldorf EC the German championship.

During his career in Germany he scored in the main round in 356 games 187 goals.

Doubtful gained fame Rodger by his foul on the Cologne striker Steve McNeill.
