Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea [ kɛnzɪŋtən ən tʃɛlsi ] is a city district of London, and forms the western edge of downtown. With the establishment of the administrative region of Greater London in 1965, he emerged from the Metropolitan Borough of Kensington and the Metropolitan Borough of Chelsea in the former County of London. The suffix " Royal Borough " ( royal church ) was awarded because the Kensington neighborhood had once been a royal privately owned.
Kensington and Chelsea is the most densely populated and geographically smallest administrative unit in Britain. The population continued in 2008, composed of 76.5 % White, 6.9 % Asian, 6.1% black and 2.9 % Chinese.
