Rozhanovce

Rozhanovce ( German Roscho [ no] wetz, Hungarian Rozgony ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia. It lies in the valley Košická kotlina the river Torysa, about 10 km from Košice.

The village was first mentioned in 1270 as terra Ruzgum. The Battle of Rozhanovce between the Aba family, the former de facto rulers in Upper Hungary, and the Hungarian King Charles I was defeated near the town on 15 June 1312.
