Rozvadov

Rozvadov ( German Roßhaupt ) is a municipality with 756 inhabitants ( 1 January 2013) in the Czech Republic. It is situated in 570 m asl in the Upper Palatinate Forest ( Český les ) on the border with Bavaria and belongs to the Okres Tachov on. The municipality has an area of 54.9 km ².

At 5 km south-west to Germany's neighboring community Waidhaus there is a border crossing for vehicle traffic.

South of the town runs the D5 motorway, which continues on the German side at Waidhaus as BAB 6 and simultaneously represents in this section, the European Route 50. Up to the Czech Republic's accession to the Schengen Agreement on 21 December 2007 when this was the largest German -Czech border crossing.

History

The first time was the place that was also temporarily the name Sichdichfür, mentioned in 1581, since 1613 was a Bohemian customs office. Today's custom office building was built in 1934.

The most striking building was built in 1816-1825 Baroque Church of St. Wenceslas. After 1945 the church was briefly used as a cinema, then as storage and is now in ruins and desolate.

In 1938, 784 residents lived in Roßhaupt, which consisted of 137 houses. Including the associated six monolayer had the place 1191 inhabitants.
