Rüdiger Kuhlbrodt

Rüdiger Kuhlbrodt ( born November 20, 1942 in Hamburg ) is a German actor and director.

Life

Rüdiger Kuhlbrodt grew up on the Hamburg Seewetteramtes Erich Kuhlbrodt and geologist Lucie Kuhlbrodt in Hamburg as the fifth child of marine meteorologists and conductor. After graduation, he studied drama at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Hamburg, including together with Dietmar Mues, Dagmar Berghoff and Heidemarie Rohwedder. It was followed by engagements at the Stadttheater Pforzheim and at the Theatre of Würzburg, Theater Lübeck, the Municipal Theater Münster and 1975 at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. After a creative break in California he built in 1980 with other artists on the alternative theater project in the former Atlantic Theatre in Dusseldorf. Toured to prisons throughout NRW and in other theater institutions free. Then it took in 1983 the Westphalian State Theatre as senior director. In 1986 he followed a call Peter Zadek as an actor to the German Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. Here he played among others on the side of Susanne Lothar, Ulrich Tukur, Eva Mattes, Jutta Hoffmann and Ulrich Wild Gruber.

After the guest The Blue Angel on the side of Ute Lemper at the Theater of the West in Berlin, he was in 1994 under the direction of Heiner Müller, Matthias Langhoff, Fritz Marquardt, Peter Palitzsch and Peter Zadek member of the Berliner Ensemble. After 1996, followed by guest agreements with the intimate theater Berlin, the Berlin State Opera, the Vienna Festival, the Schaubühne Square, the Castle Park Theater in Berlin, the Theater of the state capital Magdeburg, Hamburg Chamber games, the Ruhr Triennale, the open-air theater Schwäbisch Hall and the State Theatre Salzburg. In 2002 he founded for political reason the free group Global Heroes, in the war with the multimedia performance America: A series occurred. Rüdiger Kuhlbrodt is the brother of the archaeologist, dancer and theater director Eckhard Kuhlbrodt as well as the prosecutor, film critic and performer Dietrich Kuhlbrodt. He lives in Berlin and Palm Beach, Florida.
