Rudky

Rudky (Ukrainian Рудки; Rudki Russian, Polish Rudki ) is located one lying in western Ukraine small city about 42 kilometers southwest of the Oblasthauptstadt Lviv near the river Wyschenka ( Вишенька ).

The village was founded in the late 14th century as Chutor / Dairy under the name Benkowa Bytschnja, 1472 the town was named Rudki. The city belonged from 1774 to 1918 for Austrian Galicia and was from 1854 to 1918 the seat of a district team. After the end of the First World War, the city became part of Poland and was here in 1921 in the Province of Lviv. During World War II Rudky was occupied between September 1939 and 1944 by Germany. 1945, the city was then the Soviet Union, where they became part of the Ukrainian SSR, since 1991 a part of today's Ukraine.
