Rugby union at the 1924 Summer Olympics

In the VIII Olympic Games in Paris in 1924 was the last time a rugby union tournament with only three participants, the defending champions USA, Romania and the hosts France discharged. A total of 41,200, of which 37,300 paying, viewers watched the three games.

After the decisive game USA - France, there were massive riots in which the followers of the French team beat up numerous supporters of the United States. A storms of course could only be prevented by a large contingent of police and because of the precaution reinforced with barbed wire fences.
