Russell Allen

Russell Allen ( born July 19, 1971 in Long Beach, California) is an American musician and singer of progressive metal band Symphony X.

At an early age he discovered the song as his talent. At age five he sang for the first time in front of a larger audience. His influences were Iron Maiden, Dio, Rainbow, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.

In 2005 he released his solo album Atomic Soul. In addition, he worked on the 2002 side project "Star One" by Arjen Lucassen, on which he is one of the four main singers. Even a short tour with Allen denied, of which 2003 live album was released. Together with the singer Jorn Lande and composer Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear ) were published under the name Allen / country 2005, 2007 and 2010 albums.

In early 2011 appeared Iconoclast, the now 6 Symphony X album with Russell Allen. It was followed by two extensive European and North American Tournees among others, Nevermore, Psychotic Waltz and Iced Earth.

In 2011, a brief break Russell Allen, Mike Portnoy (ex - Dream Theater ) and Mike Orlando to a supergroup under the name Adrenaline Mob. An EP was released in the same year. The subsequent debut album Omerta was released in March 2012 and has been recorded without the new bassist John Moyer of Disturbed.
