Adrenaline Mob

Adrenaline Mob is an American Hard-Rock-/Heavy-Metal-Supergroup from New York. The band was founded in 2011, is made up of current and former members of the band Dream Theater, Symphony X and Disturbed. The band is under contract with Century Media and has so far released two EPs and two studio albums.

History

Founding and first EP

Early 2000s learned the singer Russell Allen of Symphony X of the band and the former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy know. Both musicians often talked about starting a joint project. In 2010, Allen recorded his second solo album. His guitarist Mike Orlando Allen presented while recording some songs written by him. Both decided to put together a band for this music. When Russell Allen found out that the just who quit Dream Theater Portnoy would be free cried Allen at him and led the song ideas further. Portnoy liked the music and said to his participation.

Originally, the band Adrenaline Fueled junkies should be called. However, it turned out that there was already another band with that name. The musician stopped at the word firmly adrenaline, because the band would be so loud Portnoy in the iPod and the iTunes listeners between AC / DC and Aerosmith. In Portnoy's proposal the word mob has been attached, because the musicians together felt like a transition. In June 2011 the band played their first concert in New York City. Two months later, the band released their self-titled debut EP, which includes a cover of Black Sabbath song The Mob Rules. The EP, produced by Mike Orlando was sold about 1,800 times on iTunes in the first week after release and reached number 13 of the Top New Artist Albums chart.

Omerta (2011 /12)

In summer 2011 the band recorded their self-produced debut album Omerta, was the publication on Elm City Music in North America on 13 and Century Media in Europe on 16 March 2012. Mike Portnoy explained the delay to the fact that record companies need a three- month lead time to promote an album well. Covertà and Men of Honor (2013 onwards )

In March 2013, the band, the EP Covertà containing eight cover versions of the favorite songs of the band released. The gecoverten bands include Dio, Van Halen, The Doors and Led Zeppelin. This was followed by a North American tour with the band Nothing More, and a South American tour with the band Halestorm. Beginning in June 2013 Mike Portnoy announced his departure as it was for him to schedule conflicts with his other projects ( Flying Colors and The Winery Dogs ).

Even without a drummer began Russel Allen and Mike Orlando with the songwriting for their second studio album. The recordings for this began in October 2013. The release of their second album, Men of Honor on February 18, 2014 in North America and three days later in Germany. Men of Honor sold in the first week after the release of about 3,600 times in the United States and reached number 99 of the U.S. album charts. With number 76 the band reached the jump in the German album charts for the first time. For April and May 2014, North American tour supporting Avenged Sevenfold and Hellyeah is planned.

Style

Former drummer Mike Portnoy said in an interview that the music of Adrenaline Mob differs significantly from that of Dream Theater and Symphony X and has absolutely nothing to do with progressive metal. He described the band's music as a continuous forward Metal. Singer Russell Allen described the music of Adrenaline Mob as rock music with modern sound.
