Rustam Totrov

Rustam Stanislavovich Totrow (Russian Рустам Станиславович Тотров; born 15 July 1984) is a Russian wrestler. He won a bronze medal in Greco-Roman light heavyweight at the 2011 World Championships in Istanbul.

Career

Rustam Totrow grew up in North Ossetia / Alania Vladikavkaz as a teenager and began in 1998 with the rings. He focuses on the Greco- Roman style. He belongs meanwhile to the Sports Club Toilet Torpedo Tyumen, but mostly trained in the power center of the Russian wrestler in Moscow. At times, he also went for the sports club Partizan Belgrade at the start. His coaches were or are Gaglojew W., W. Urujmagow, p Worobiew and SW Batkow. At a size of 1.85 meters, he wrestles in the heavyweight, the weight category to 96 kg body weight.

He previously played in the junior level to the Russian top wrestlers of his respective age group. But to a use in an international championship he came only in 2004, when he was employed at the Junior European Championships in Murska Sobota at middleweight. He lost his first fight there but against the Greeks Vassilios Kollaros and could come up with a victory over Ahmet Yildirim from Turkey only win the 10th Place.

In the following years he fought for in international tournaments some good rankings. In 2007, he arrived at the Russian Championship light heavyweight behind Roman Marchenko and Vasily Teplouchow to 3rd place. 2008, for the first time succeeded Russian champion in the light heavyweight division before Vasily Teplouchow and Nikolai Kurakow to be. At the Russian Championships in 2009 and 2010 he succeeded no place among the victors, but in 2011 he was a Russian vice-champion. In 2011 he won the prestigious " Ivan Poddubny " Memorial in Tyumen before the Russian elite light heavyweight, namely Artur Schachbanow, Olympic champion Aslanbek Chuschtow and Nikolai Melnikov.

Because of these successes, he was then employed at the European Championships in Dortmund. He won there first Dejan Frankovic from Serbia, but had already lost his second fight against Elis Guri of Bulgaria just on points. Since Guri not reached the final, he was eliminated and only came on the 10th Place. After he had with a tournament victory at the " Wladyslaw - Pytlasiński " Memorial in Radom, where he won before Timofei Dseinitschenko from Belarus, Irakli Kajaia, Georgia and Nikita Melnikov, rehabilitated, he was also employed at the World Championships 2011 in Istanbul. He came there to victories over Zbignevs Romanovskis, Latvia and Daigoro Timoncini, Italy, but lost again against Elis Guri (1:2 rounds, 5:6 points). Guri but became world champion Rustam Totrow and therefore could still win a world championship bronze medal by beating Sinisa Hogac from Croatia and Mohamad Abd El Fatah from Egypt.

Towards the end of 2011, he represented the very successful season of Russia in the light heavyweight division at the team tournament "Moscow Lights" and " Oleg - Karavayev " Memorial in Minsk together with Nikita Melnikov.

Rustam Totrow eingersetzt was also at the 2012 Olympics in London. He was there in great shape and won the silver medal. Along the way, he defeated Shalva Gadabadse from Azerbaijan, Jimmy Lidberg of Sweden and Timofei Dseinitschenko from Belarus. In the final he was defeated by all surprising Iranian Ghasem Gholamreza Rezaie.
