Jimmy Lidberg

Jimmy Lidberg ( born April 13, 1982 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish wrestler. Lidberg was twice Vice European Champion and one Junior World Championship runner.

Career

Jimmy Lidberg operated already by the age of three to sporty in different disciplines. At 14, he opted for the rings, because his older brother Martin was already very successful in this sport. He joined in Stockholm the local giants Spärvagens BK. In 2005 he moved to Huddinge Brottarklub. Since 2003, he is struggling in the German Bundesliga. He went so far for three German clubs at the start, the SV Siegfried Hallbergmoos, Germania KSV Aalen and the ASV Mainz, 1888.

His coaches were Sandor Csergö and the Swedish national team coach, former Polish Olympic champion Ryszard Świerad. Lidberg is 1,90 m tall and weighs about 100 kg. In 1998, he won the Swedish Junior middleweight champion in Greco -Roman style, the style that he wrestles exclusively for the first time. Swedish junior champion, he was also in the years 2000, 2001 and 2002 in the light heavyweight division. In 2000, he won the Swedish seniors champion in the light heavyweight division for the first time. In the years 2001, 2002 and 2003, he came Swedish runner-up, because he was defeated in the final battle in each of his brother Martin. Was similar in 2007. Jimmy Lidberg won first at the European Championships this year after wins over Igor Kostins, Latvia, Roman Meduna, Slovakia, Dimitri Timchenko and Balazs Kiss, Hungary and a defeat in the final against Rama Nosadse the EM- Silver Medal, but came at the World Championships this year only on the 11th place, because he had once again lost in the third round against Rama Nosadse and in the subsequent consolation round drew the short straw against Marek Svec of the Czech Republic.

At the 2008 European Championships in Tampere he could return the favor in the fight against Marek Svec and defeat him on points. He already lost then his next fight against Heiki Nabi of Estonia, left and only came on the 7th Place. He had no starting place at the Olympic Games in Beijing. But Jimmy Lidberg was not discouraged and won in 2009 for the first time at the European Championships in Vilnius and at the World Championships in Herning / Denmark medals. In Vilnius it was the bronze medal, which he won with victories over Vladislav Metodiew, Heiki Nabi, a defeat against Mindaugas Ezerskis and a win over Serkan Oezden from Turkey and in Herning it was even the silver medal he with victories over Daigoro Timoncini, Italy, Sergei Jeroschkin, Ukraine, An - Chang -gun, South Korea and the Olympic champion of 2008 Aslanbek Chuschtow from Russia, he fought down 2-1 rounds with 7:7 points, with a narrow defeat in the final against Kisss Balazs from Hungary, fetched.

2010 lost Jimmy Lidberg at the European Championships in Baku his first fight against Kaloyan Dinchew and therefore wound up a 19th place. But already at the World Cup 2010 in Moscow, he reached with wins over Ivan Nemeth, Hungary, Daigoro Timoncini, Mirko Englich, Germany, losing to Timofei Dseinitschenko from Belarus and a win over Justin Ruiz of the United States the third place, winning again a bronze medal.

In 2011, he started only at the World Championship in Istanbul. After victories over Justin Ruiz, Cupid Ayari, Tunisia, Timofei Dseinitschenko and Cenk Ildem, Turkey, he was in the final against Elis Guri, a naturalized in Bulgaria Albanians. Unfortunately he did not succeed also diesemal the first title win since he lost to Guri just on points and had to settle back with the silver medal.

In 2012, Jimmy Lidberg unsuccessful then the dress rehearsal for the Olympic Games in London, as he finished at the European Championships in Belgrade only the 15th Place. In London, however, he won the bronze medal.
