Career

Beginnings in motorsport

In 2003, Hunter -Reay in the CART series and started for the American Spirit Team Johansson, the former Formula 1 driver Stefan Johansson team. Although the team was under-funded, he managed to win the race in Surfers Paradise by a happy, but daring strategy. At the end of the season, he finished 14th in the driver standings. In 2004 he moved to Herdez Competition and remained in the series, which is now called Champ Car. He won the race at the Milwaukee Mile in impressive fashion by he lay all 250 laps in the lead. At the end of the season he was ranked ninth in the overall standings. 2005 moved Hunter-Reay to Rocket Sports Racing and was team-mate Timo Glock. He usually did not last with with Glock and finished at the end of the season to have achieved without a podium placement, the 15th overall. With two races left in the season he was Michael McDowell, who brought the financial support replaced. In 2006 he competed in any racing series.
