Ryan Sharp
Ryan Sharp ( born April 29, 1979 in Newton Hill ) is a British racing driver.
Career
Sharp began his motorsport career in 1992 in karting and in 1999 in the British Formula First. In the following years the Scot drove in the British Formula Ford In 2002, Sharp in the British Formula Renault, finishing in sixth place in the overall standings. He also began 2.0 Euro Cup in a race of Formula Renault. 2003 Sharp was active in four racing series. He took part in several races of the Formula Renault V6 Euro Cup and the Italian Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and drove, where he finished the season fifth in the overall standings the entire season in Formula Renault. He was also master of the German Formula Renault.
2004 Sharp launched only in the Formula Renault V6 Euro cups and secured driving for Jenzer Motorsport the runner-up title. 2005 joined the Scot to David Price Racing in the GP2 Series. Sharp got two points and was named after seven race weekends replaced by Giorgio Mondini. In the overall standings, he was number 23 for the rest of the year, Sharp returned to Jenzer Motorsport and drove back in the World Series by Renault.
In 2006, Sharp in the WTCC to JAS Motorsport and was 21st overall. 2007 Sharp went in the FIA GT Championship at the start. For JetAlliance Sharp secured in an Aston Martin the runner-up title in the series. With his teammate Karl Wendlinger, a former Formula 1 driver, Sharp won three races. 2008 Sharp stayed with JetAlliance in the FIA GT Championship. His teammate was Wendlinger. In the championship Sharp finished ninth after nine of ten races.
