Saint-Priest, Rhône

Saint -Priest is a French town with 42,535 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the metropolitan area of Lyon. Administratively it belongs to Arrondissement Lyon in the Rhône department in the Rhône- Alpes region and the Communauté urbaine de Lyon. The inhabitants of the town called San Priots or Priestois.

Saint -Priest is located in the southeastern suburbs of Lyon and has, especially in the 1960s and 1970s witnessed a rapid growth (population in 1962: 10,681, 1982: 42 677 ). The city is an important industrial center, among other things, with the head office and a truck plant of Renault Trucks (formerly Berliet factory ) and the head office of the Irisbus bus manufacturer. Saint -Priest is also an endpoint of T2 of the Lyon tram.

The German twin town of Saint -Priest is Mülheim am Main near Frankfurt am Main. The Partnership was established on the outskirts of the already long-standing partnership between the cities of Lyon and Frankfurt. Moreover, Saint -Priest has twinned with Arezzo in Italy.
