Sakon Nakhon ( Thai: สกลนคร, also: Sakon Nakhorn, formerly Nong Han Luang ) is a large city ( เทศบาล นคร สกลนคร ) in the Thai province of Sakon Nakhon. It is the capital of the district ( Amphoe ) Mueang Sakon Nakhon and the capital of the province of Sakon Nakhon.

Origin of the name

Geography

The Sakon Nakhon Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, Isan.
