Waritchaphum District

Amphoe Waritchaphum ( Thai อำเภอ วาริชภูมิ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the province of Sakon Nakhon. The Sakon Nakhon Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the Isaan.

Geography

Amphoe Waritchaphum located in the southwest of the province of Sakon Nakhon and borders from the north clockwise as seen at the Amphoe Song Dao, Sawang Daen Din, Phang Khon, Nikhom Nam Un in the province of Sakon Nakhon and Amphoe Wang Sam Mo Udon Thani province.

In Amphoe Waritchaphum is the northwest end of the Phu Phan mountain range -

History

The Amphoe Waritchaphum was formed on 1 April 1926 as a small district ( King Amphoe ) in the district Phanna Nikhom. At that small district the Tambon Pla Waritchaphum and Lo, which were separated from Phanna Nikhom, and the Tambon Nong Kham Bo and Lat from the former county Han Ban belonged ( Sawang Daen Din today ). On March 10, 1953, the small district was upgraded to a Amphoe.

The radical intellectuals and poets Jit Phumisak 1966 in Tambon Kham Bo, Amphoe Waritchaphum shot. He had previously joined the Communist Party of Thailand and had gone as part of its " rural strategy " in the forested Phu Phan mountains.

Management

Amphoe Waritchaphum consists of 5 sub-districts ( tambon), which further into 71 villages ( Muban ) are divided. There are four small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Waritchaphum ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วาริชภูมิ ) consists of parts of the tambon Waritchaphum,
  • Lo Pla ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ปลา โหล ), consisting of the entire Tambon Pla Lo,
  • Bo Kham ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล คำ บ่อ ), consisting of the whole tambon Kham Bo,
  • Nong Lat ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง ลาด ), consisting of the whole tambon Nong Lat.

There are also two " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
