Ban Muang District

Amphoe Ban Muang ( Thai อำเภอ บ้านม่วง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the province of Sakon Nakhon. The Sakon Nakhon Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the Isaan.

Geography

Amphoe Ban Muang is located in the north of the province of Sakon Nakhon and borders from the west clockwise as seen in Amphoe Ban Dung Udon Thani province, on the Amphoe Fao Rai, Phon Charoen So Phisai and Nong Khai province, as well as Amphoe Kham Ta Kla to the, Wanon Niwat and Charoen Sin in the province of Sakon Nakhon.

History

Amphoe Ban Muang was created as a small district ( King Amphoe ) on 20 March 1968, when the three tambon Mai, Muang Thong and Dong Mo were spun off from the Amphoe Wanon Niwat. On 16 November 1971, the promotion was to a full Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Ban Muang consists of 9 subdistricts ( tambon), which further into 92 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Ban Muang ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้านม่วง ), consisting of parts of the tambon Muang,
  • Huai Lua ( ​​Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ห้วย หลัว ), consisting of the entire Tambon Huai Lua.

In addition, there are eight " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
